In an interview, Baddo recalled how, as a newcomer in the industry, a ‘senior associate’ had dispatched him to buy lunch. He claims he was in the studio when the senior colleague entered and asked for help purchasing meals.
Olamide offered to buy the dinner because he was the youngest, but the amount of money his ‘senior associate’ handed him was insufficient. So Olamide paid for the food with his money, but the ‘senior colleague’ wanted “his change.”
Baddo informed him there was no change, but the ‘senior colleague’ urged the studio owner “Cabasa” to tell him to give him his change. He used words like, “If he wants money, he should tell me, and I will give him. He should not use tricks to steal my money..”
Olamide acknowledged his anger that day but refrained from speaking. He also revealed that “this senior Associate” is now one of his biggest supporters and that he would like to perform with him on a song.
Banky W is the “senior colleague,” according to Olamide’s supporters. They claim that at one point, Banky W and Olamide collaborated and even called Banky W out for his actions, even though it was years ago.
