Organizers Of The AMVCAs Have Officially Announced The Date For The 9th Edition
The 9th edition of the prestigious awards will take place between May 18 and 20. Multichoice revealed this in collaboration with Africa Magic, the event’s organizers. The three-day event will honor African entertainment talents in film production, culture, fashion, and music. Dr. Busola Tejumola, Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice announced the program for the 9th AMVCA and noted that this edition is different from previous ones.
The awards have served as a standard for evaluating quality in the film business. According to Dr. Busola, Amstel and Zagg Energy Drink will partner with the AMVCAs this year. She added that this year’s edition was unique because there were 40% more entries than in the previous edition, making it stand out.
Tejumola revealed that the Opening Night and Cultural Day event on May 18 would kick off the three-day 2023 AMVCA celebration. Then, on May 19, the Runway Show/Nominee Gala will take place. Finally, on May 20, the Award Night will bring the party to a close.
She stated that the AMVCA is dedicated to recognizing the outstanding talents in the African film and television sector and the incredible individuals who work both in front of and behind the cameras to inspire them to continue telling the real, authentic stories of Africa.
