It has been no small feat to see a new generation of entertainers leading the charge as Afrobeats maintains its rapid ascent in popularity worldwide. Fans have been drooling over the prospect of a collaboration between Asake and Joeboy, two of the genre’s biggest fan favorites. The two musicians partied together during the weekend of April 9 in a Lagos nightclub. Asake and Joeboy’s unusual public appearance has raised speculation about possible future working relationships. Fans now hope the pair will finally work together in the studio.
So far, 2023 has been a significant year for Joeboy and Asake. Yoga and 2:30 are Asake’s two singles, with Yoga achieving the top spot on the TurnTable Top 100. He appeared on Davido’s fourth studio album, Timeless, as well. Joeboy has also been active, putting out two songs: Body & Soul and Duffel Bag, produced by BeatsbyTimmy.

It has been suggested that Asake and Joeboy may have worked together on his upcoming sophomore album, Body & Soul, due out on May 19. It would be an intriguing proposition and undoubtedly one of the year’s biggest hits if two of Africa’s brightest stars, each at the varying peaks of their respective games, collaborated.
