Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Jay-Z Makes Billionaires List, Kanye West & Kylie Jenner Dropped

Celebrities Shine on Forbes' Billionaire List as Some Familiar Faces Drop Off

Forbes recently published its annual list of the world’s billionaires, including 2,640 names from 77 nations. Several performers, including singer Rihanna, reality star Kim Kardashian, and rapper Jay-Z, are among the top earners. Some well-known names like Kanye West and Kylie Jenner have been left off the roster.

Rihanna, 35, founded Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty and has a net worth of $1.4 billion. Jay-Z, the 53-year-old CEO of Roc-A-Fella Records, came in at #1,217 with a $2.5 billion valuation. Kim Kardashian, 42, creator of Skims, was ranked 2,259th, with a net worth of $1.2 billion.

Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, and Michael Jordan are also among the top earnings on the list. Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, has been dethroned as the world’s wealthiest person, with LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault taking the top position.

According to Forbes, Arnault’s net worth grew by $53 billion last year, making him the highest climber among billionaires. His luxury goods conglomerate, LVMH, owns over 70 premium fashion labels, including Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Tiffany’s, Sephora, and even Fenty Beauty.

Kanye West, 45, dropped off the billionaire list after his Adidas brand partnership terminated earlier this year. His net wealth dropped to about $400 million. Kanye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her sibling Kylie Jenner both saw a drop in their rankings.

Despite their impressive numbers, some of these celebrities saw a decline in their ranking. Rihanna’s ranking fell from 1,729th to 2,020th, and her wealth fell from £1.36 billion to £1.2 billion. Oprah Winfrey’s fortune fell from $2.6 billion to $2.5 billion.

On the other side, some celebrities saw an increase in their net worth. Jay-Z’s valuation increased from $1.4 billion to $2.5 billion, ranking him at number 1,217. Following the release of the Avatar sequel last year, Titanic director Steven Spielberg climbed to 694th place with a $4 billion net wealth.

For the second year in a row, the overall number of billionaires on Forbes’ list has decreased, from 2,668 to 2,640. Elon Musk, with a net worth of $180 billion, is now the world’s second-richest billionaire, trailing only Bernard Arnault, chairman of French luxury products conglomerate LVMH, whose net worth has risen to $211 billion.

Celebrities are extending their empires and solidifying their positions as business and entertainment worlds continue to merge.
