Rushawn Ewears, Star Of The Viral “Beautiful Day” Video To Release His Debut Song

Rushawn Ewears, a young sensation from Jamaica, recently made headlines when he signed a record deal with Sony Records in the UK. Rushwan, whose cover of “Beautiful Day” became popular on social media, has landed a tempting deal and will soon release his first song. Jamaican Gospel artist Jermaine Edwards, who released the way (Beautiful Day) in 2014, will appear on his newest song. One of the singles from Edward’s album “Don’t Count Me Out” was this one.

According to Sony Music UK A&Rs Preye Crooks and Milo Saville, Rushawn and Jermaine inked a license agreement with Sony Music UK that included all of their masters, as exclusively reported by Dancehall Magazine. Rushawn can be seen singing “Beautiful Day” by Jamaican Gospel artist Jermaine Edwards in a 2017 video that was shot by a teacher at Top Hill Primary School in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

Six years later, in 2022, thanks to popular remixes by The Kiffness, Trinix, and others, his video received millions of views and won him enduring fame. The platform further stated that the multinational music publishing organization will collaborate closely with Edwards and his newly discovered protégé and that it is unquestionably not a one-time opportunity. According to Rushawn, a current BB Coke High School student, the popular song was his ticket out of poverty. He said he had never imagined achieving this kind of success through a video.
