Sarkodie Claims That Burna Boy, Davido, And Wizkid Can’t Think He Intended To Offend Them

Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, recently opened up regarding the controversy that has surrounded the release of his most recent song, “Brag.”

In an interview with VoxAfrica, Sarkodie explained why he named-dropped popular Nigerian musicians on his most recent song, “Brag.” The Ghanaian superstar rapper claims that rather than taking jabs at the artists, as some people have misinterpreted it, he name-dropped Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake to highlight his long tenure at the top.

The rapper asserted that he would only be taking shots at rappers, and the musicians in question are not rappers. He claimed he was merely talking to rappers about how long he had been in the game.

Sarkodie, who has been at the top of the African music scene for more than ten years, celebrated his over a decade-long reign at the peak by tagging Nigerian music giants Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake in his song “Brag.” Nigerian musician Dremo responded to Sarkodie’s “Brag,” mocking him for claiming to be the continent’s biggest rapper.

In the odd turn of events, Dremo also defended the names of the Nigerian artists Sarkodie mentioned, even though the Ghanaian rapper didn’t trash-talk them. So far, fellow Ghanaian hip-hop artist, Lyrical Joe, has responded to Dremo’s attacks directed at Sarkodie. Sarkodie’s fellow countrymen have asked him not to dignify Dremo’s unnecessary disses with a response.
