Seun Kuti Condemns All Obasanjo Supporters

Seun Kuti, a well-known Nigerian singer and the youngest son of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the father of Afrobeat, has declared that anyone who supported Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, must perish in hell. Seun revealed this during an Instagram live session on his page, where he lamented how Nigerian and European governments abuse natural resources for their interests. He said that during the Obasanjo administration, oil and other valuable resources that belonged to Nigeria and her people were auctioned off to foreign purchasers.

He claimed that Obasanjo was a rather wicked man and that anyone from Nigeria who would laud him for any reason should be condemned to hell because they were beyond redemption. The professional trumpeter continued by claiming that anyone who supports anything Obasanjo does in the nation lacks respect for Africa. He stated unequivocally that such Nigerians are against Africa. Heck, he tagged them “oppressors.”

Seun, just like his father, has been outspoken on political and national issues plaguing the country. His comments on Obasanjo’s supporters come hot on the heels of his comments about Lagos originally belonging to the Portuguese. The singer justifies his assertion by pointing out that the Portuguese gave Lagos its name. He claimed that whoever names something or someone owns it.
