Shatta Wale Teases New Music From Upcoming Afrobeats Album

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, is a Ghanaian heavyweight reggae-dancehall singer who just made a big revelation. The controversial musician, who just announced a world tour for his March 10-track album ‘Maali,’ has revealed that he is working on a new Afrobeats record.

The reggae-dancehall heavyweight, who shared the new sample on social media, is preparing to dive into the burgeoning Afrobeats genre, which Nigerian artists have dominated. In the video shared by the singer on Instagram, he was in a white bathrobe, rocking some glasses and vibing to his unreleased Afrobeats tune. And judging from his energy, you can tell he was excited to make the album and can’t wait to unleash it.

In addition, the singer disclosed how the album would feel, saying the incoming Afrobeat project is horny. Before now, Shatta has expressed his love and admiration for Nigerian music and even made jest of Ghanaian music, saying they need help. However, his remarks and opinions appear to have been altered since 2021, when he lashed out against Nigerians for not supporting the Ghanaian sound.

Of course, he came under fire for his comments on social media, but it looks as if the Ghanaian singer has finally seen and embraced the spreading light of Afrobeats.
