Shia LaBeouf’s Red Carpet Comeback Scorned By Fans Following Alleged FKA Twigs Abuse

American actor Shia LaBeouf’s red carpet comeback has come under fire for his alleged abuse of renowned British singer FKA Twigs.

LaBeouf made a reappearance on the Cannes red carpet to promote Megalopolis, the new film from filmmaker Frances Ford Coppola. After their breakup, FKA Twigs brought up allegations of violence against the actor, including verbal and physical assault, sexual battery, and emotional suffering.

She claimed that LaBeouf was a threat to women, that he had intentionally given her an STD, tried to strangle her, and slammed her into a car when she initially filed the complaint in 2020. The actor has stated that he denied “each and every allegation” made against him. His attorneys reacted at the time, stating he did not hurt her.

He received backlash and a barrage of Tweets on social media when he decided to walk the Cannes red carpet again. While abuse allegations persisted, another accused the actor of treating Cannes like a “redemption tour,” while several others just utilized red carpet footage to draw attention to the charges and impending trial.

Twigs recounted how being abused may affect one’s emotional and physical health in a March interview with Vogue. The two will go on trial together on October 14, 2024, following a postponement. Notes accompanying the petition state that LaBeouf’s “entertainment projects” and schedule problems with FKA Twigs have caused multiple postponements of the trial.
