The most challenging experiences of famous people whose success we now laud rarely reach the media’s spotlight. Speaking with renowned Entertainment Conversationalist and Media Personality Chude Jideonwo, The ‘Shake Body’ crooner described how his old record company left him homeless and broke in a recent interview. He said EME did not renew his contract since the label was not making money from its investment and, thus, had to let him go without much financial compensation.

Olamide, the head of YBNL, phoned him and expressed his liking for one of his songs, “Shake Body,” according to him, and that call caused his life to change irrevocably. Skales claimed that the Native Rapper and Music Mogul requested to know why he didn’t film a music video for the club banger at the time, but since he was poor and homeless, he couldn’t afford to shoot and told Olamide just so. Olamide allegedly handed him money for the video shoot later on, and the song was a commercial success, and the rest, they say, is history.

He said,

“My deal with them was done and they refused to continue because I wasn’t doing well at that time.“Olamide contacted me and said he loved one of my songs, Shake Body, and asked if I wasn’t going to shoot the video. I told him I was homeless and couldn’t possibly shoot a video and he sent me money. My God turned my life around after that video shoot”.

In the explosive interview, Skales bore out his mind and also touched on issues surrounding his family, marriage, and the recent misunderstanding he had online with his wife, which he took responsibility for, and said he has been working on improving their relationship since after their reconciliation and following the birth of his newborn.
