Slimcase Reveals The Background Story To His Hit Single, “Azaman”

Nigerian artist, Oluwafemi Oladapo Oko-Eko, better known by his stage name, Slimcase, has revealed the fascinating history behind the making of his popular song, “Azaman.”

In a Friday, May 17, video interview on Naija Info FM, Slimcase revealed how Larry Gaga, a music executive, assisted him in assembling the featured artists. Azaman, a song released in 2019, gained popularity right away. The song was originally supposed to feature Simi, but their musical tastes weren’t quite compatible, according to Slimcase.

But after learning about Peruzzi’s partnership with 2Baba, which he really loved, his plans changed. Slimcase, who has been a fan of 2Baba since Plantashun Boiz, stated that he preferred to work with the seasoned artist. Davido was enamored with the song and asked to be featured when Peruzzi sent him the vocals for Azaman. Slimcase chose 2Baba over Davido for the guest feature because of his respect for the seasoned artist, regardless of this rare opportunity to have Davido on a song.

When Slimcase thought back on his decision, he expressed his admiration for 2Baba and even declared that, given the opportunity, he would completely tattoo 2Baba’s picture over his entire body.

Azaman’s remarkable collaboration has been distinctly shaped by Slimcase’s appreciation and dedication.
