Gifted Nigerian artist, Tekno, recently published a photo on Instagram that makes it clear that he hasn’t found someone to replace Lola Rae in his romantic life. The Diana hit-maker mentioned that he has been single for a while after sharing some amazing self-portraits. He continued by saying that he envies Paul Okoye, though he failed to specify if it was the singer Rudeboy of P-Square, or the millionaire entertainment exec that is also actress Iyabo Ojo’s new man.
The P-Square singer immediately commented on Tekno’s Instagram post, jokingly asking him to specify who “Paul Okoye” he was alluding to.
But while the Afrobeats icon continues his search for love, his music career has been gaining more momentum recently as he was among the artists whose music was selected to be featured on the soundtrack album for Ted Lasso’s third season. Alhaji Tekno features on the album alongside Nigerian stars Wizkid, 1da Banton, and famed indigenous singers Umu Obiligbo.
The presence of the Nigerian musicians is directly related to the fact that one of the series’ main characters is from that country. The comedy Ted Lasso on Apple TV, starring Jason Sudeikis as the charming and sincere Coach Lasso who tries to honor fictitious Premiership club AFC Richmond, has gotten overwhelmingly excellent reviews from both audiences and critics.
