The 2022 BET Lifetime Achievement Award Will Be Presented To Diddy
Diddy will be getting his flowers at the 2022 BET Awards.
Sean “Diddy” Combs is a well-known figure in the music industry. Over the course of his three-decade career, he has affected music, fashion, television, and more. Lil Kim, Faith Evans, 112, Mase, Total, Junior Mafia, and The Lox were among the genre-defining artists signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment label in 1993.
Diddy then founded the “Sean John” apparel line and, in 2013, created Revolt Media & TV, which now has a digital reach of over 80 million households and 20 million monthly viewers. On Monday, June 13, it was made public that Diddy would get the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 BET Awards for his contributions to the culture.
The award, according to BET, recognizes people who “have not only significantly shaped culture through their extensive careers, but who have also been transformative leaders that consistently inspire generations by setting a true standard of excellence.”
“Diddy has always been a pioneering force in our community, breaking barriers, achieving unprecedented heights, blazing new trails, and, in so doing, raising the bar for all of us,” In a news release, BET CEO Scott Mills stated. He went on, “His virtuosity is matched only by his range – from music to media, culture, business, and philanthropy – Diddy has exemplified Black Excellence.”
