The “Entergalactic” Series By Kid Cudi Now Has An Official Release Date

Cudi is looking for a new way to communicate his stories after six studio albums. Cudi teased the Netflix series and corresponding album Entergalactic in 2019, but the project was postponed to 2022 in early 2021. Last week, Cudi shared the song “Do What I Want,” off the Entergalactic album, along with a sneak peek at the show, indicating that the project would be published soon.

It has, in fact, begun. Netflix has announced that Entergalactic will launch on September 30th, after the release of the first single. Cudi and executive producer Kenya Barris collaborated on the animated series. The show is set in New York City and portrays a young artist named Jabari as he tries to strike a balance between love and achievement.

Jabari’s personality is characterized as “a charming, creative visionary with a splash of goofball, Jabari is effortlessly cool. Dressed head-to-toe in the holiest of streetwear grails, Jabari is just one of those kids you can’t help but love.” Jaden Smith, Jessica Williams, Timothee Chalamet, Ty Dolla Sign, Vanessa Hudgens, Macaulay Culkin, Teyana Taylor, and others are among the cast members of the show.

Entergalactic is directed by Fletcher Moules and written by Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams. Along with Mad Solar Productions’ Karina Manashil and Dennis Cummings, Edelgang’s Ian Edelman, and Maurice Williams, Cudi is recognized as an executive producer.

DNEG studio created the animation for the show. Below is a new teaser trailer for the film.
