Timeless Concert: Davido Returns With A Bang
Davido is back, and it’s “Go Time” as Music lovers and Nigerian fans of the Afrobeats artist Davido gathered to see him perform in Lagos once more on a beautiful Sunday evening. On Sunday, April 23, fans flocked to Lagos’ Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) to attend Davido’s eagerly awaited Timeless event. As anticipated, fans of the 30BG hitmaker gathered at the stadium venue. These supporters included many colleagues in the entertainment sector.
The OBO Crooner held a performance/concert at the 50 000-seat venue Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos in conjunction with Adetoro Fowosere’s Toroec Entertainment to promote his fourth album, “Timeless,” and other projects. Photos and videos from the concert that showed the audience getting into the groove and having an enjoyable experience have continued to appear online.
But before the headlining performer for the concert took the stage and got things going, Davido, in his customary style, allowed up-and-coming artists to exhibit their abilities and give their TBS premiere performances. The night’s hosts, Skitmakers and media personalities Kiekie and Mr. Macaroni, were not left out as they showcased their dance skills on stage.
Superstar entertainers, including Asake, Mayorkun, Skiibii, Pheelz, Fave, Spyro, Iyanya, Khaid, and many others, performed, each bringing down the house with their sound. A trending image of Davido watching backstage as performances occurred surfaced online during the show. Likewise, OBO was observed sitting back and watching as his colleagues successively delivered their juices to the massive sold-out crowd.

As anticipated, the 30BG crooner finally appeared on stage to a raucous reception from the crowd. So it was only fitting that the cheers and clamor were deafening. OBO last had the opportunity to play in front of a Lagos audience in late 2021, and his 2022 gig, which was scheduled to take place in November, was postponed due to the passing of his son. With a “March promise” to return, he attended the world cup final ceremony before returning to his grief and hiatus.
With the help of musicians like Asake, Fave, The Cavemen, Morravey, and Logos Olori, to mention a few, Davido gave the audience energetic and upbeat versions of songs from his “Timeless” album. Additionally, he sang a few classic pieces that made a lot of folks feel nostalgic.
Rapper Tion Wayne and Davido’s cousin, BRed, were also in attendance and graced the 30BG stage at the TBS with performances of some of their popular songs.

Indeed, The Timeless Concert was one for the books; many will not forget it quickly. Fellow big-weight colleagues Burna and Wizkid were reportedly said not to be in attendance, but they sent their Support, Love, and Solidarity to OBO. The success of this concert had OBO pleasantly surprised and in good spirits as he declared a possibility of a world tour coming soon -maybe the anticipated joint tour with Wizkid is happening after all.
