Tiwa Savage, Waje, Omawunmi, Yemi Alade, Others React To Tems’ Historic Grammy Win

Tiwa Savage, Waje, and other prominent Nigerian artists have reacted to Tems’ most recent Grammy Award victory.

The 65th Grammy Awards ceremony placed on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Temilade Openiyi,  the talented Nigerian singer better known by her stage name ‘Tems,’ recently won her first Grammy award.

The exciting Tems contributed to the popular Future and Drake song “Wait For U,” which garnered three significant nominations in the categories of “Best Rap Song” and “Best Melodic Rap Performance.” In addition, being a featured musician on Beyonce’s “Renaissance” album earned Tems yet another nomination for “Album Of The Year.

Tiwa Savage, Waje, and Omawumni all posted messages of congratulations to the excited Tems on their social media profiles. Yemi Alade, an accomplished vocalist, also sent her congratulations across too.

Yemi Alade, a fellow musician with a Grammy certification, responded to the victory on social media. Tems won a Grammy in the category of “Best Melodic Rap Performance” for her work on Future and Drake’s famous song, “Wait For U.” after the song sampled her “Higher” track.

Yemi Alade, alongside other African and international acts, also congratulated the artist on this accomplishment. Using her social media platform to extend the congratulatory message, Yemi Alade recognized the African Sensation’s effort and applauded the Superstar’s efforts.
