Tory Lanez’s Felony Assault Trial Over Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Has Commenced

Rapper, Tory Lanez was photographed leaving court on Monday in Los Angeles, the first day of his felony assault trial related to claims that he fired a gun at Megan Thee Stallion’s feet during a party in July 2020.

The 30-year-old rapper was dressed in a light gray suit, black turtleneck top, and black shoes in addition to tinted sunglasses with a black frame. The musician, whose true name is Megan Pete, is suspected of being shot in the direction by the Canadian native from Brampton at a residence in the Hollywood Hills at around 4:30 in the morning on July 12, 2020.

If found guilty in this case, Lanez could receive a sentence as long as 23 years. According to CBS News, Detective Ryan Stogner of the Los Angeles Police Department testified in a hearing in December 2021 that Megan informed him Lanez yelled “Dance, b****” before firing his gun during the incident.

According to Stogner, Megan claimed to be “bleeding profusely” from her feet when she fainted and crawled to the driveway of a neighboring house. The investigator testified that Megan said Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, “emphatically apologized for what he did” and “offered her money” in exchange for her confidentiality over the incident.
