The singer’s management has refuted reports linking them to the political event.
According to a brochure disputed by both Asake and Wizkid, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, would not be having Asake, Wizkid, and other artists play at his Abuja rally on February 18, 2022, as claimed in the flyer.
According to the story, the flier is bogus, and the event organizer will face legal action, which was refuted by Asake’s official news page on Instagram. The message said:
FAKE NEWS❌‼️This is to inform the general public that this event led by @avotujohnson1st is a scam❌‼️
@asakemusic and his management know nothing about this event. Accordingly, he will not perform at the said event as claimed, so please beware of this poster and information from its organizers, as Asake and his management will not be liable for any damages.
Appropriate legal action is being explored against the persons responsible for creating and disseminating this false information.
Asake has been one of the brightest stars that have continued to shine since last year as his rollercoaster to fame continues.
