The world’s largest sportswear company, Nike, is working with the Canadian rapper Drake and his brand, Nocturnal Creative Process, or NOCTA, to create two new iterations of the classic Hot Step Terra design. The dynamic team suddenly released Purple and Champagne along with Champagne Papi, two new hues.
Alongside Atlanta 21 Savage, Drake just released the album Her Loss, which has been making news. In order to maintain their momentum, the team is now adding new footwear and a variety of comfortable clothing to their product offering that come in “Champagne” and “Purple” colours. This is the first time that the beige-hued sneakers have been shown to fans; the “Purple” colorway’s initial peek and leaked images debuted in May 2022.
The brand-new Hot Step pair is distinctive because it combines elements from the illustrious Nike history. The 1999-designed Nike Air Terra Humara midsoles’ distinctive DNA is shared by the two shoes. Peter Fogg, a renowned designer, served as its inspiration, and the swoosh label and a Toronto-based artist added contemporary accents. The design also represents the Canadian rapper’s first swoosh-branded signature shoe.
The tough trail shoe served as the inspiration for both hues of the design. The upper of the silhouette combines minimalism and efficiency flawlessly. The first pair is a Champagne colour with subdued embellishments. The name of the colorway is probably related to Drake’s Instagram handle, “champagnepapi.” The shoe’s upper is made of mesh tongues and quilted leather material.
The second colorway, “Purple,” is covered in its name’s monochromatic shade. Similar quilted leather is used to make the upper, while mesh is used to make the tongues. A subtle gray paint accent can be seen on the tongues, and the design is completed with black liners and tiny golden swooshes.
The lateral and medial side uppers of both sneakers have glow-in-the-dark “3M” accents, which offer the practical quality of nighttime vision. The outsoles of the sneakers are constructed using G-TEK traction technology.
Release Date
On November 18, 2022, the pair unveiled a brand-new joint clothing line called the Cardinal on the NOCTA official online store. Additionally, two new colorways of the co-branded Hot Step sneakers were introduced on November 21, 2022.
