Willie Nelson Announces New Cannabis Cookbook

Willie Nelson is about to release a new cookbook featuring cannabis-based food recipes. The country musician, who stopped smoking marijuana in 2019 due to health concerns, has teamed up with his wife, Annie, to create a collection of “cannabis-infused delicacies.” Set to be released on November 12 via Gallery Books, Willie & Annie Nelson’s Cannabis Cookbook combines Nelson’s gift for storytelling and herbal remedies with his wife Annie’s passion for home-cooked meals. The 256-page book draws from the Nelson family’s favorite meals on nationwide tours, at the ranch, at home, and in their favorite cities, offering recipes with stories to tell. Each recipe provides a cannabis kick to ease the mind and body, making the cookbook an exciting, comforting, and lively way to dive into their story.

Featuring “delicious and easy” recipes for Buffalo wings, chocolate cake, fried chicken, and more, the book also includes an extra chapter providing a full suite of cannabis-infused base ingredients, including cannabutter, finishing oil, simple syrups, sugars, salts, and tinctures. Although this is Nelson’s debut cookbook, he has previously written two New York Times bestsellers with his memoirs, Willie: An Autobiography (1988) and The Facts of Life and Other Dirty Jokes (2003).

In addition to his cookbook, Nelson recently collaborated with Beyoncé on the song ‘Smoke Hour’ from her latest studio album, Cowboy Carter. He is also preparing for his North American ‘Outlaw Music Festival Tour’ with Bob Dylan, which will feature performances by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, John Mellencamp, Billy Strings, Brittney Spencer, and Celisse.
