Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” Is Ranked Second On The Billboard Year-End Albums Chart

The fourth studio album of Wizkid, Made In Lagos, was released in 2020. Numerous records, including the record for the longest-charting African album on the global album chart, were broken by the effort, which received widespread praise. After BTS’s “Proof,” Billboard has announced the 2022 year-end list, with “Made in Lagos” coming in second.

With the help of the popular song “Essence” by Tems and Justin Bieber, “Made In Lagos” became the first album to spend 100 weeks on the World Album Chart. It also broke Fela Kuti’s 45-week record for the longest charting album. Burna Boy’s 2022 album “Love, Damini” is also among the top 10, coming in at number nine despite having been published in July.

On the same year-end list, CKay’s 2019 EP “CKay The First,” which includes his international hit tune “Love Nwantiti,” came in at number 14. Wizkid has been enjoying the enduring success of his last studio album, MIL, which ended up breaking records and getting him another Grammy nod.

The success of his past record got transferred into the newly-released More Love, Less Ego that made its way to both the UK and US album charts on the first week of publication. The Afrobeat musician has also announced and will be commencing with his North American tour in support of his new project.
