“You Can Do Better”- Rapper CDQ Shades Asake Over Released Snippet

Nigerian rapper Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, better known by his stage moniker CDQ, has criticized the most recent sample shared by prominent street-hop artist Asake. In the rapper’s opinion, the famous singer employs a monotonous technique.

Asake, who is now one of the trending afrobeat artists in recent times, and has even been dubbed “landlord” by the number of chart-topping songs he has been able to release so far, shared a sneak peek of exciting, amapiano-infused music on social media in the early hours of Sunday, March 12, 2023. Without a shadow of a doubt, it is a potential banger, and fans have already heard it in that line, even though it has not yet been released.

While many famous people, admirers, and music enthusiasts praised Asake for this snippet, CDQ had a different perspective and wasn’t afraid to voice it. The rapper said in a blog comment that he thought the singer could have done better and added that the sample sounded similar to DJ Spinall’s hit song “Palazzo,” which also featured Asake. CDQ added a heart emoji as he wrote, “Sounds like Palazzo. he can do better than this tho.”
