Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State in southwest Nigeria, is where Abimbola was born. She received a diploma certificate and training as a secretary at the Lagoon Secretarial College in Lagos. The University of Lagos later awarded her a certificate in computer science. Before joining the British Council in 1987, she worked briefly as a trainee journalist at the Daily Sketch. However, she left the organization in 2006 after her husband, Babatunde Fashola, was chosen as the candidate for governor of his party and the disbanded Action Congress of Nigeria.
Fashola is an affluent politician and lawyer with a net worth of more than $450 million. His wealth is accumulated mainly from his political career, as he has served in many state and federal political positions for many years.
Theparadigm reported that Babatunde Raji Fashola, the governor of Lagos State, had purchased two Land Rover BulletProof jeeps. The armored vehicles, estimated to be worth N610 million, arrived at the county’s seaport in Apapa, Lagos. However, a representative from the State House in Alausa denies knowing the price at which the armored jeeps were purchased. Fashola must have other pricey rides in his car collection but does not take to showoff.
Fashola must own houses and real estate investments, which he chooses not to flaunt. However, there is information on his homes or how many they are.
