Bola Ahmed Tinubu Biography
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, known to his host of admirers simply as BAT (his initials), is a Nigerian accountant, politician, and former governor of Lagos state.
Tinubu’s origins are as opaque as the man himself, and their is no substantial evidence that he came from where he said he came from.
There are no records of who his birth parents are. Alhaji Abibat Mogaji, whom many assume to be his mother, is not his birth mother. She’s more of an adoptive mother figure in Tinubu’s life.
Despite his murky past and troubled childhood (he’d admitted he couldn’t go to secondary school for lack of money), Tinubu has built himself into one of the most powerful politicians in Nigeria. Many often see him as a master tactician who has a way of getting his way.
That description recently proved true at the APC presidential primaries when he beat other contestants to emerge as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress.
Clinching the party’s ticket was no easy task given the caliber of people contesting against him, including the vice president, Yomi Osibanjo.
At some point, fearing he was about to be schemed out, he had ranted publicly, stating that he made Buhari president after the president attempted but failed three times to clinch the nation’s number one job.
Most politicians now call him his excellency, thanks to Tinubu’s success in the presidential primaries.
With his election as the presidential flag bearer, Tinubu, who had stunned many during the last election by channeling bullion vans to his house, believes he would eventually become Nigeria’s next president.

Tinubu’s age has always been controversial, with his documents showing disparate data. His exact date of birth is unknown.
Based on publicly available information, the politico has no clue when he was born. His date of birth was never recorded. So he came up with a date at some point in his life. Even that date remains a source of the political dispute to this day.
For record purposes, though, as the former Lagos state governor would have the world believe, he was born in 1952. So that makes him 70 years at the time of writing (May 2022).

Wife
Oluremi Tinubu, an RCCG minister and senator, is married to Bola Tinubu. Through Oluremi’s elder sister, the couple came together. Oluremi claimed that she was drawn to Tinubu because of the kindness she saw in his eyes. In 1987, Tinubu and Remi were wed. On SeptembSeptember 21 in Ogun State, Pastor Oluremi was born. The year 2022 finds her at the age of 61.
The University of Ife awarded the former first lady of Lagos State a degree in education. Additionally, she has a degree in zoology and botany. She, Stella Oduah, and four other women were chosen to serve in the Senate in 2015. Currently, Mrs. Tinubu represents Lagos Central Senatorial District in the Senate. At The Redeemed Christian Bible College, she enrolled in Bible school in 2010, and in 2018, she received her pastorate.
There are rumors that she is not Tinubu’s first wife. According to reports, Bola Tinubu was wed to his first spouse, the mother of his first two kids. According to sources, she reportedly passed away in 2018 following a heart arrest. Because Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State, has never acknowledged having a previous spouse in public, not much is known about her.

Tinubu is on record as having four children — two sons and two daughters. But, unfortunately, one of the sons, Jide Tinubu, is now late. So that leaves him with two daughters and a son.
The only surviving son is known as Seyi Tinubu. Unlike his father, who became famous as a politician, Seyi is more of a tech bro. He’s easily one of the recognizable faces in that universe.
One of the daughters is Folashade Tinubu-Ojo — so named because she married Ojo but wants to retain her father’s name for obvious reasons.

The other daughter is known as Abibat Tinubu. He’d named this daughter after Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, whom Bola Tinubu adopted as his mother. In reality, she never gave birth to him. But that’s by the way.

Apart from politics, which his critics say is the source of his wealth, Tinubu also has his hands in many businesses, from oil and gas to hospitality and transportation.
One thing about the politician is that he’s pretty a depth at hiding ownership of companies, so it is hard to pin all the companies to him.

He’s also said to own a stake in Oando but uses his brother Wale Tinubu as a cover.

Like almost every aspect of his life, Tinubu’s education was a source of controversy at some point. He had accidentally misrepresented the institution where he obtained his accounting degree.
Tinubu didn’t attend secondary school because he was too poor to. However, he did attend the Richard J. Daley College, a community college in Chicago, where he obtained an associate degree (Nigeria’s equivalent of an Ordinary National Diploma).
He also attended Chicago State University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu currently resides on Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi, Lagos State, and the house is valued at more than N650 million. He also owns Lakowe in Abijo, Ibeju-Lekki, which is nearby. The estimated value of the land in this area is N80 billion. It appears that the land was granted to him to develop a personal project. Ikoyi Estate Foreshore is his property. Currently owned by Chief Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Lagos State government once owned this property. His other homes and properties include those in Lagos, Nigeria’s Oyinkan Abayomi, Ikoyi, Asokoro, and Atlantic Beachfront. He also owns homes and properties in Abuja.

He is rumored to own at least 30 different types of cars, some of which he purchased himself and others of which were gifts from friends and coworkers. His fleet includes a Land Range Rover. An SUV, Prado Jeep, is owned by Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who uses it for security duties. An armored car from the same manufacturer starts at roughly N45 million for a brand-new vehicle. His other makes of cars that he utilizes for protection or personal usage include Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, Ford, and Lexus.

He’s never appeared on the Forbes list, but Tinubu is easily one of the wealthiest Nigerians, with a fortune running into the billions.
Of course, you’ll never find him shouting about his worth, but Tinubu is worth billions of dollars. Conservative estimates put his net worth at $10 billion. He made most of his fortune from his association with the government. He would never admit that, of course.
