John Helms and Pamela Ann Parker welcomed Edward Parker in Atlanta, Georgia. While his father, a former navy veteran who became a lawyer and insurance executive, was a school administrator, his mother worked in education. According to the actor, his mother was a health freak who thought Raisin Bran was the sweetest food they had.
Ed has two siblings, an older sister named Susan Carol Helms and a brother named John Paxton Helms.
Although Ed Helms is the father of one child, the name of that child is not stated on any of his web profiles, and Helms is careful to avoid mentioning his child in interviews.

Helms is adored and respected by his fans, but he tries to keep a very clear line between his personal and professional lives.
The Coffee & Kareem actor has a sizable fortune. His net worth is projected to be around $20 million. Helms has worked with brands including Budweiser, Burger King, Doritos, and AT&T, among others, in addition to earning money from acting in movies.
