Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, famously known as Phyna and Hype Priestess, is a Nigerian reality TV star. She is best known for winning the 7th season of the Big Brother Naija Level Up show. She also emerged as the most talked-about contestant on the show after emerging winner.

Ijeoma Josephina Otabor entered the Big Brother Naija Season 7 Level Up as “Phyna.” She revealed that she had auditioned for the show five times before being accepted. Phyna became a fan favourite from the moment she entered the show. She was noted to be one of the most outspoken housemates, quickly connecting with her fellow housemates.

Phyna entered the Big Brother house as a single woman. She is quoted saying, “My views on relationship is, na mumu dey fall in love.” Phyna’s outspoken nature led her into arguments with her housemates, including Sheggz, Bella, etc. However, the housemates noted that her heart was just as open as her opinions. She never harboured any malicious intent for the housemates that she got into fights with.

The show ended on Sunday, October 1st, with Phyna announced as the winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 7 Level Up show. While accepting her prizes, she said, “I did not have a difficult moment in the house, except when I needed to fight for chow (food). That was a difficult moment because we needed to argue during the merger. I had to blend with the other level and get to know them, and literally, we were all fighting for chow”.

She further stated, “In the next five years, by God’s grace, heaven would not only be my limit, but it would be a starting point.”

According to Phyna (and Groovy, too), she first noticed Groovy at the beginning of the show. She approached him and stated her interest in him when he told her he was with another housemate, Beauty. However, following Beauty’s disqualification from the show, housemate, Amaka gained an interest in Groovy. She convinced Phyna to help her tell him.

However, Phyna did, and Groovy had no interest in Amaka. Instead, he had developed feelings for Phyna, who he decided to pursue. The two housemates brewed a relationship after Groovy asked Phyna to be his girlfriend. Amaka has constantly criticized the relationship following her disqualification from the Big Brother House. She has also made nasty comments about Phyna.

After emerging as the winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 7 Level Up show, Phyna embarked on a media tour with the entire top 6 and spoke about her relationship with Groovy during her interviews. She revealed that they decided to keep it private and away from the prying eyes of their fans (also called shippers). Groovy also stated in an interview that his relationship with Phyna was genuine. He also revealed that he had been into her since she first approached him in the house. He also stated that he never had feelings for Amaka and was never interested in her.

She attended Auchi Polytechnic for her undergraduate studies, graduating with an HND in Agricultural and Bio Environmental Engineering Technology in 2019. Phyna also enlisted in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
