Education

Later on, he graduated from the Universities of Lagos and Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) with degrees in history, politics, and international relations. He received his doctorate in conflict studies at King’s College London between 1989 and 1992, with a focus on civil-military relations.

Health Center

The Ekiti State Government has denied the claim that the outgoing governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, spent N91 billion on a main medical facility that is currently closed. The accusation, according to the commissioner for health, Br Oyebanji Filani, “is outrageously false and intended to misinform the public.”

Political Career

Fayemi entered partisan politics in 2006, ahead of the 2007 election, when he ran for Governor of Ekiti State under the defunct Action Congress. After three and a half years of legal wrangling, the appeal court in Kwara state ruled Fayemi the legitimately elected Governor of Ekiti State on October 15, 2010, therefore ending Olusegun Oni’s administration as the state’s then-Governor.

Daily Trust, a national daily, described the electoral journey in an editorial titled, Closure to Ekiti 2007 Governorship Saga, which was published on Friday, 22 October 2010.
