Korra Obidi, born Anita Chukwumfumnaya Obidi on June 23, 1991, is a Nigerian dancer, singer-songwriter, and model. Before enrolling in a business administration study at the University of Lagos, Korra Obidi completed her studies at the Command School in Ojo, Lagos. Obidi earned the titles of Miss Radiography in 2009, Miss Moremi in 2010, and Miss Congeniality in 2014 while attending the University of Lagos. At the AFRIMMA Awards, she was up for Best Dancer in Africa.

In a few interviews, Kora Obidi has discussed her connection with her parents in considerable detail. While Korra Obidi would not give their names, she did admit that her mother passed away and that her father was a banker from Delta State. Korra Obidi and her siblings were raised in a Christian environment, and as a result, she became active in church at a young age. Korra Obidi divorced her American spouse Justin Dean. Justin cited Korra’s mistreatment of their children as the reason for their divorce, but new details damning him have emerged. Justin was accused of being verbally abusive to Korra and disrespecting her in front of their children on many occasions.

Korra Obidi and Justin were married for four years following their traditional wedding in Lagos in 2017. Her estranged husband, Justin, on the other hand, accused her of being a serial cheat and stated this as one of the reasons he filed for divorce. The dancer initially rejected the allegations, but subsequently admitted in an Instagram live with her sister that she had an affair before moving to the United States.

Dance & Music Career

Korra began working as a dancer in the entertainment industry while still a student. She did it covertly because her parents didn’t support her interests, but finally they gave their reluctant consent to let her pursue it. Her career took an unusual turn when she joined several Nigerian artists on tour as a professional dancer. Later, she obtained instruction in belly dancing from Priti Mastakar.

Korra Obidi produced notable performances at the 2017–18 Africa Basketball League, the Ladies A’La Mote in Muscat, and the Burj Al Arab. While expecting, Korra Obidi participated in the American dance competition “So You Think You Can Dance” in 2019.

As her dancing career flourished, Korra Obidi made the decision to branch out. In 2015, she launched her music career with the tune “Man Like You.” She then issued the EP “Woman Power” and the singles “Africa” and “Park Nicely.”
