Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Biography
Pastor Chris was born on 7 December 1963, in Edo State, Nigeria, to Tim and Angelina Oyakhilome. He is the third of seven children and the first of two sons.
He attended Edo College and, on scholarship, was admitted to Bendel State University, which was afterward renamed Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, where he studied and earned a first degree in Architecture, and later the Benson Idahosa university to study Theology and Divinity, where he was honored with a doctorate afterward.
Family
Born into a family of nine, He is the eldest son of Elder Tim E. Oyakhilome and Angelina Oyakhilome. As expected, the Oyakhilome family is quite large, with a family of Seven children. Elder Tim and Angelina are great-grandparents already. Unfortunately, information about this large family can not be exhausted as almost all the Oyakhilome family members work under LoveWorld Incorporated in ministry and service.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s nephew, Pastor Daysman Oyakhilome Woghiren, is ministerially and biologically linked to him. He is one of Africa’s rising leaders, and he is utilizing his talents to encourage young people to be touched by God’s Word. As the CEO of Carel Films Enterprise, he uses current media and communication methods to share the Good News. He has produced around 100 Christian music videos and animations, including “I Know Who I Am” by Sinach, “Kinging” by Rozey, “Igbunu” by Micheal Jaffe, and “Untouchable” by TB1. He won the American Academy of Animations Award three times before age 20. He also received the renowned Walt Disney Award and was nominated for a Future African Leaders Award(FALA).
Parents
Elder T.E. Oyakhilome, his father, was a founding member of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City. Pastor Chris, his firstborn son, found him to be an inspiration early enough. He celebrated his mother Angelina’s 80th birthday with a party in Benin. She is loved and adored as the “quintessential matriarch” for her justice and grace. She is a devoted mother, grandma, and mother-in-law who has bestowed divine grace on her son.
Siblings
He has five sisters and a brother, all involved with Loveworld and the Christ Embassy. They are Beayeta Akhuemokhan (née Oyakhilome), Mercy Oyakhilome, Kenneth Oyakhilome, Linda Okocha (née Oyakhilome), Kathy Woghiren (née Oyakhilome), and Lovelina Osazuwa (née Oyakhilome).
Tim and Angelina Oyakhilome had two sons. Reverend Ken is Pastor Chris’s younger brother. As the renowned Pastor of Christ Embassy’s Houston, Texas branch, he has taught much wisdom and transformed many lives. He also serves on the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council.
Katty Worghiren, Pastor Chris’s sister, is the director of the LoveWorld Music & Arts Ministry (LMAM). She began as an outstanding member of the choir. Her creative ability has resulted in some of the most well-known LoveWorld tracks.
Children
Pastor Chris’ marriage resulted in two amazing daughters. He and his ex-wife Anita may have chosen to break their marriage, but they adore their lovely daughters Carissa Sharon, and Charlene. They are both currently residing in London. His daughter Sharon, who lives in London and just married Phillip Frimpong, is an inspirational gospel singer. Charlene, her sister, was a lovely bridesmaid at her wedding.
On 29 April 2021, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome received his first grandchild. Arielle Rachelle Marise, his granddaughter, was born to her parents, Sharon and Phil.
Wife
Anita Ebhodaghe married Oyakhilome in 1991. They were parents to two girls. Anita Ebodaghe filed for divorce in the Central Family Court in London on 9 April 2014. They also opted to share custody of their two children following their divorce. They split after 25 years of marriage in February 2016 due to “Unreasonable Conduct.”
Lifestyle
Pastor Chris began his pastoral service while still an AAU student. His ministry began as Youths for Christ (YFC), became Believers’ LoveWorld Fellowship, and is currently Believers LoveWorld Incorporated (YFC).
YFC grew to be the largest campus fellowship. In 1989, Pastor Chris co-founded Believers LoveWorld Incorporated (BLW) alongside Christ Embassy. The headquarters of the church is in Lagos. Believer’s LoveWorld has evolved into a global ministry with millions of followers and associates worldwide. In 2003, Pastor Chris’ television network became the first Christian station to broadcast from Africa to the rest of the world.
He is also the author of “Rhapsody of Realities,” the best-selling daily devotional in the world. In 2015, Oyakhilome was awarded honorary doctorates from Ambrose Alli University and Benson Idahosa University. In addition, Oyakhilome and Benny Hinn co-founded the Evangelical cable channel LoveWorld USA in 2017. Pastor Chris also founded the Christ Embassy’s Inner City Mission, a ministry to children living in our world’s inner cities to give them hope and a future.
Chris also hosts “Atmosphere for Miracles,” a show on significant networks in the United States, the United Kingdom, Asia, and Europe. In addition, Oyakhilome runs an internet prayer network that uses social media to communicate messages to Christians worldwide.

For example, the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) has five partners committed to improving living conditions in some of the poorest communities.
Chris takes care of some of the poorest people’s medical needs. Through advocacy, health education, and community-based activities, his Trauma Care Foundation International (TCFI) is dedicated to improving trauma care and emergency response services. Volunteer Medical Corps members can go into the community and help those in need. In addition, they provide long-term solutions that empower communities. Pastor Chris recognizes that his global community has both physical and spiritual needs.
The “Bible For All” campaign aims to make the written word of God available in every home. They translate and distribute Bibles to hundreds of thousands of people each year.
