Reminisce hails from Ajilete in the western Nigerian region of Ogun State’s Yewa South LGA. He was born in Kaduna state, Northern Nigeria, on 26 January 1981. He participated in school activities and listened to a variety of local and international musical genres while in school. He attended Kwara State Polytechnic to study purchasing and supply.
After appearing in Jah Bless’ song, Joor Remix, which also included Durella, Ice Prince, elDee, and Ruggedman, Reminisce gained notoriety. To establish his reputation, he unleashed the street anthem “Kako Bii Chicken,” which quickly became a success across the country.

The debut album of Reminisce, ‘Book of Rap Stories,’ was released to the public on 31 March 2012. After collaborating with Edge Records Studios’ studio producer Sarz, he began recording the album in 2010. The studio permitted him to create a bilingual album. Sarz, PastorChild, Legendury Beatz, Joshbeatz, and Jospo all contributed to the album’s production. In the southern region of Nigeria, the album did well commercially.
On 15 November 2013, his second album, ‘ALAGA IBILE,’ was formally released. The singles “Eleniyan,” featuring Wizkid, and “Daddy,” featuring Davido, Fantasi, and 3rd World Thug, were included on the album along with features from Naeto c and Olamide. In addition, producers Sossick, Sarz, Chopstix, and Jospo collaborated with Reminisce on the album. Before the end of 2014, an estimated million copies of the record were sold.
2015 saw ‘Baba Hafusa,’ the third album by Reminisce released. Reminisce, who debuted at number 12 on the Billboard World Music Charts, is the first African hip-hop artist to have an album chart at that position.
It was hailed as a “genre-busting record,” with music critics and listeners praising the fusion of sounds for creating a unique blend of hip hop, fuji, and afrobeats. As a result, it was a strong contender for album of the year.
The Baba Hafusa album held the top spot on iTunes for several weeks and was regarded by many Nigerians as one of the best hip-hop albums in Nigerian history. Combinations of afrobeat, fuji, and hip hop were responsible for this. Other works he puts out include El-Hadj (2016) and Ponmile (2017).
In July 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, Reminisce released the EP Vibes & Insha Allah. In just four months, the EP had over 4.5 million streams on Audiomack. Fireboy DML, Mo Safaru, and Fatimah Safaru are among the musicians who appear on the 6-track music project. In addition, Tmxo, Krizbeatz, Sarz, and others completed the production.
