Céline Dion - &Quot;Love Again&Quot; (Soundtrack From The Motion Picture) Song Review, Yours Truly, Reviews, April 25, 2024

Award-winning Canadian singer Celine Dion makes a musical comeback with “Love Again” (Soundtrack from the Motion Picture)” after going public with her health battle in 2022. Here’s our review of her first song release since her 2019 album “Courage.”

Last year, the world froze when Pop diva Celine Dion announced that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder affecting her singing. The star is famous for her entertaining live performances. The thought of not being able to do that must have been scary.

Celine returned to social media on Thursday, April 13, to announce the release of “Love Again” (Soundtrack from the Motion Picture).” The song would be included in a five-track soundtrack project, including some of her past hits.

In a statement about the film “Love Again,” the Canadian star said she had fun doing it. She shouted out her co-stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan.

“I had a lot of fun doing this movie. And to have the privilege of appearing with the beautiful and talented actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in my very first feature film is a gift that I will cherish forever.” She said. “I think it’s a wonderful feel-good story, and I hope that people will like it and like the new songs too.”

“Love Again” (Soundtrack from the Motion Picture)” was released at midnight on April 13. It brings back memories of what it feels like to hear a new Celine Dion song—the softness of her vocals, the raw emotion, and the feeling that just pours out of her. Celine sings about the hope of falling in love again after not getting it right.

In the pre-chorus, she echoes the emptiness that comes when a heart is broken, and love feels lost. She sings, “You might think your world is ending, but it won’t / you might think you need to give up, but you don’t.” The lyrics are soothing, like a comfort pillow when you just need rest.

In the Chorus, she sings about not getting it right immediately but being hopeful about loving again. “This is not the end; you will love again.”

The song was written by Dan Wilson of Semisonic (who also produces) and Rosaileen Scher. Wilson is famous for co-writing Adele’s award-winning single “Someone Like You” and “Not Ready To Make Nice” by Dixie Chicks.

Sony’s Screen Gems announced that the domestic release date for the rom-com “Love Again,” starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan, and Celine Dion, had been moved from May 12th to May 5th. The film is an English-language remake of the 2016 German film “SMS Für Dich,” based on a novel by Sofie Cramer. Celine Dion plays a fictionalized version of herself in her first film role.
