Doechii, Top Dawg Entertainment’s latest signee, is out to make her mark with her new EP. It would be nice to state that TDE knows how to pick them. Doechii rose to prominence after her song “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake” went viral on TikTok in 2021. Currently signed to TDE and Capitol Records, Doechii is out to make her mark.

Hopefully, she achieves this with her latest EP. The “She / Her / Black Bitch” is a 5-track project which includes the previously released singles “Swamp Bitch,” “Bitch I’m Here,” and “Persuasive.” The project also features guest appearances from Rico Nasty, SZA, and Jst Ray. In a statement about the EP, Doechii said, “Many times I’ve been referred to as a ‘bitch’ as a way to gaslight me out of certain spaces, something I think many people can relate to in one way or another. Lots of people will call you various names for doing something differently.”

She continued, “So I decided to take ownership of the ‘Black bitch’ and title my EP She/Her/Black bitch and reclaim that motherfucking power,” Doechii added.” So if you’ve ever been put down for being yourself, just remember you’re powerful and unapologetic- these songs are for you.”

Doechii &Ldquo;She / Her / Black Bitch&Rdquo; Cover Art

If creativity had a different name, it most certainly would be Doechii. We think the cover art for the EP is just perfect. It features the American rapper in a pose that would make you want to figure her out. We doubt if you do that just by glancing at the photo. The cover seems to channel a bit of Doechii’s personality, which makes it so attractive.

Features

It does not matter where you put Doechii; she would shine effortlessly. She is the kind of artist who would pull a song off by herself and still shine amid other incredible talents. Doechii features three great talents, including Rico Nasty, SZA, and Jst Ray on the album. Of course, vibing with these three on an album means that magic would be made. And might we state that it was made.

The “She / Her / Black Bitch” EP houses a total of five tracks. It features the previously released singles “Swamp Bitches,” “Bitch I’m Here,” and “Persuasive.” The first single, “Swamp Bitches” features contributions from Rico Nasty, while Grammy winner SZA contributes to “Persuasive.” The first released, “Persuasive,” became one of her most popular songs. The collaboration with SZA is currently the most popular song on the project. “Bitch I’m Nice” is also a fan favorite.

Production & Vocal Delivery

Undoubtedly, Doechii has a good vision of what her music should be about. The TDE rapper named one of Pigeons & Planes’ 22 rising artists to watch in 2022 said in a statement, “I want to create a new vision, a new lane, and so much music. Everyone is invited to the Doechii dominance.” Production for “She / Her / Black Bitch” was done by Kal Banx, Hit-Boy, Bankroll Got It, and Devin Malik. The EP is executive produced by Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith and Anthony “Moosa” Tiffith Jr. Doechii also boasts some very powerful vocals. Her flow and delivery are top-notch. She’s got the potential to be one of the most prominent voices in rap before the year runs out. On “Bitch I’m Nice,” she sounds a bit like Nicki.

Summary

There is no arguing the fact that Doechii is a star. The American rapper is on the rise to claim her crown. She owned every song on the EP and established herself as one name to remember. Her delivery on each track would make you want to know and hear her more. Shout out to Rap’s rising queen.
