B.I.B.L.E. is Fivio’s formal introduction to the world with a heavy-hitting drill project which will lead the way for future drill projects globally. On this album, Fivio showcases the different sides to him, the highs and the pits.

He invites special guest features that help him tell his story in all 17 chapters of his B.I.B.L.E. Throughout the LP, Fivio Foreign holds his city high and represents his roots with confidence.

Album Cover Artwork

The album cover features an up-close shot of Fivio’s serious, war-ready face, suggesting that he is ready to take on the world as he officially penetrates the industry with this debút project. In the same vein, the body of work isn’t named “B.I.B.L.E.” for no reason. Instead, the L.P. presents chapters of his blood, sweat and history, and he signs off on it with his face that is smack on the cover of what would introduce him to the world: his own B.I.B.L.E.

Songs and Features

Stellar opener ‘On God’, featuring on-the-rise rapper KayCyy, sees biblical inspiration meet an enthralling chorus. Over an astral instrumental, we hear some of Fivio’s most fantastic bars to date.

Coming from a place of passion and clear thoughtfulness, he delivers one of the best intro tracks of the year, despite some questionable grammar: “I’m a self-made it, Grammy-nominated / Opps know I’m not to play with, n**** / How I’m not your favourite?”.

Elsewhere, Foreign teams up with his Brooklyn drill ally, Migos’ Quavo, for the vibrant collaborations ‘Through The Fire’ (yes, very punny, but this is entirely different for the stunner of a debut single Ye released in 2003) and ‘Magic City’.

The latter is the best of these transparent attempts at another massive drill club track to rival ‘Big Drip’ or Pop and Quavo’s ‘Shake The Room’. The most complex collaboration to fathom is the Ne-Yo-assisted ‘Love Songs’, on which the Vegas crooner sings an interpolation of his 2006 smash ‘So Sick’.

Fivio reiterates the original track’s storyline of a lovesick man via a funny attempt at a half-sung hook: “Girl, leave me alone / ‘Cause you’re nothing that I need / I won’t answer the phone”. The track seems comical despite another great verse, with a random automated vocal added behind the piano sample and a simple chorus.

Fivio Foreign and Polo G are the drill Kobe and Shaq in “Changed On Me”. Their first collab was on some lit, party vibe, but “Changed On Me” is the exact opposite. The latter features this uber theatrical drill beat that can easily be imagined being played in a scene on The Wire.

It also features a chilling hook by Vory in which his voice cracks like Post Malone’s usually does, and verses by Fivio and Polo rap about making it out of the mud, proving people wrong, and calling shots.

“World Watching” is remarkable. The way Fivio slides off on the song is so dope! But, on the real, it’s Tjay’s hella infectious hook and Yung Bleu’s gritty, non-melodic verse that caught my attention. Bleu and Tjay put up one of the best performances on this song.

Fivio signs off his debut studio album with ‘Can’t Be Us’, a heartfelt message to himself about his come-up story, his challenges and motivations and acknowledging the people around him in the best four minutes of drill music.

On “B.I.B.L.E.,” the Fivio tries to manoeuvre an unconventional sound onto a more conventional path: smoothing down the drill’s street edge into something safely marketable.
