The ambiance of live worship is captured on the colorful album cover. While Bassey gets busy with his trumpet, the other co-worshippers behind him demonstrate they are genuinely in tune with the performance. Some are dancing, and others have their hands raised in worship. But the spirit is one.

Tracks and Features

“Hallelujah Anthem (Live)” opens the album with piano keys and Nathaniel Bassey’s voice readying the audience to get into the right mood for worship. Then he is joined by his backup choir, who sing along with him. And just like the name implies, this is a song of worship and adoration to God. The live instrumentalists also came clutch, adding life to the worship session. Calmly, the eight-minute-long track ends, ushering us into the next hit song, “Tobechukwu (Live),” which features the vibrant renowned gospel singer Mercy Chinwo. The song is one of appreciation to God for his wondrous works, an announcement of God’s faithfulness. The song also urges everyone to do the same. Mercy Chinwo’s rendition couldn’t have been more fitting for this song. That woman’s voice is a thing of wonder. Again, the instrumentalists gave their all.

South African musician Nqubeko Mbatha is featured on “Sound of Many Waters,” a figure of speech used to describe the blessings of God ready to come down when praises are offered Him. Bassey refers to Paul and Silas’ prison situation in the famous bible story and how they received freedom because they praised and worshipped. Nqubeko, when ushered in, does his thing, taking things up a notch with the assistance of the incredible backup choir. Bassey tags this one as a “song of freedom.” From SA, we move into Caribbean territory with the worship vibe. “Fountain of Mercy (Live),” featuring Nigerian gospel music icon Sinach, appreciates and takes pride in God’s mercy.

American gospel singer William McDowell appears on the album in “Hallelujah Praise The Lord (Live).” The choir sets the ball rolling with the leading of Bassey, of course, as they sing of God’s worthiness to receive praise. They appreciate God for His work of redemption in their lives, and when the tempo gets kicked up a notch, the song takes an interesting turn. The instrumentalists, especially the trumpeter, did a good job. Aidee Ime joins Bassey on “Ese (Live),” a gentle song of sincere appreciation to God for his love and goodness, especially for making the gift of Salvation available.

“Ebenezer (Live),” with the incredible female gospel singer Victoria Orenze, gets off to a vibrant start. They recognize God as their “stone of help.” Orenze comes in with her rich vocals to appreciate God for always coming through for her when she calls out for His help. This song will force you to move your body. Everything is just in sync. The instrumentalists understand the assignment. The album ends with the short and emotive “Mercy Declaration (Live),” which involves the audience in an uplifting words-of-affirmation sing-along.
