DJ Envy Biography
RaaShaun Casey, better known as D.J. Envy, was born in Queens, New York, on 3 September 1977. Throughout his teenage years, he developed a passion for DJing, and by the mid-1990s, he was a fixture on the mixtape circuit. Casey performed at events and clubs across New York under the stage name D.J. Shrimp as he rose. D.J. Clue, another well-known DJ, and Casey both resided in the same area when they were young, and he learned most of his basic training from DJ Clue.
Hampton University is where DJ Envy received his degree. He earned a degree in business management from the university in 1999.
The Desert Storm Mixtape: D.J. Envy-Block Party, Vol. 1, released in 2003, peaked at number 57 on the “Billboard Top 200.” His audience grew due to the mixtape’s commercial success, and he was allowed to mix music once a month for Hot 97 radio’s “Takin’ It to the Streets” broadcast.
In time, Casey co-hosted a morning show, filled more D.J. slots, and established himself as New York authority on all things hip-hop. He also provided the music for Sirius XM and Power 105 radio shows.
He was born into a well-settled family in New York, United States. Information about his family, though, isn’t readily available as he tries to respect their privacy and keep them off the prying eyes of the press.
Janet Casey is DJ Envy’s mother’s name; however, nobody knows his father’s name asides from “Mr. Casey.” He is said to be a professional businessman, while his mom was a housewife.
So far, not much is known about the celebrity’s siblings.
Gia Casey and DJ Envy are parents to six children. The celebrity tries to play the “father role” to his best abilities. They have two sons and three daughters. The couple’s kids are sons Logan and Jaxson and daughters Madison, London, Brooklynn, and Peyton.
DJ Envy’s son Logan received a custom-colored Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible for his 17th birthday.
He is married to Gia Casey. She is a Chinese-Jamaican by birth and DJ Envy’s wife. They were wed in 2001. She is a podcast host, an entrepreneur, a recent author, and an Instagram sensation with over 391K followers.
His marriage, though, hasn’t exactly been a bed of roses. Gia disclosed that she conducted a Google search on her spouse and found out he was lying and perhaps having an affair. He admitted to being unfaithful when she confronted him. It involved Erica Mena, a star of Love & Hip Hop. Yet, their relationship has no rumored conflict, so they seem to have sorted things out.
DJ Envy, one of the top mixtape producers in New York City, established a reputation for himself. He debuted exclusive freestyles by musicians including 50 Cent, Fantastic, and Jay-Z in the early 2000s. Three times the winner of the Justo Mixtape Award, Envy also won the Most Influential Radio D.J. Award in 2008. In addition, he has a real estate company and works with well-known companies, including Sean Jean, Reebok, Foot Locker, and Sprite.
The “Breakfast Club” on Power 105 was hosted by Casey, Charlamagne Tha God, and Angela Yee starting in 2010. The program was so popular that a year later, it was distributed on satellite and terrestrial radio.
