Frank Edwards Biography
Minister Frank Ugochuckwu Edwards, sometimes referred to as Frank Richboy, was born on 22 July 1989. He hails from Enugu State and is a famous contemporary Igbo Nigerian singer, songwriter, and recording artist who has gained popularity through the years with his music.
He founded Rocktown Records, the home of recording artists including Himself, Gil, Dudu, David, Divine, and many others, and is a licensed world-class sound engineer.
He grew up with five siblings in a very modest family of seven, where he was born. He is from the southern Nigerian state of Enugu. His skill became apparent at age 10 when he began singing and took piano lessons from his father. He became born-again in his teenage years. He dreamed of being a pilot but eventually became a gospel artist.
Along with other gospel musicians, including Moses Bliss, Ada Ehi, Sinach, Eben, and Joe Praize, Frank Edwards is a member of the Christ Embassy Church in Nigeria and the LoveWorld Music Ministry. He has more than six albums and numerous successful singles to his credit. He has established himself as one of Nigeria’s finest and most prominent gospel artists.

In the live version of Sinach’s “I Know Who I Am” video from 2013, he made an appearance.

In May 2011, he was nominated for Gospel Artiste of the Year at the sixth annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA). In the first annual awards, he was named the best Gospel Rock artist of 2010. He also received the Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA) in 2014, 2016, and 2019.
At the African Gospel Awards in 2012, he took home awards for Best Gospel Artist in Africa, Best Gospel Rock Artist, and Best Male Vocalist in West Africa. He also won West Africa’s Best Male Vocalist in 2012, Best Hit single at the Love World Award in 2012 and received a $10,000 cash prize as a reward, and three awards at the Nigeria Gospel Music Awards (male artiste of the year, song of the year, and best male vocal). He has also won the City People Award for Artiste Of The Year.
His album, ‘Frankincense,’ which features Micah Stampley and Nathaniel Bassey, stunned everyone when it topped Beyonce’s and Adele’s albums on the iTunes album chart within a few hours of its release.
