Kcee Biography
On 18 April 1979, Kingsley “KCee” Chinweike was born into the family of Chief Okonkwo and Mrs. Okonkwo from Amapatu village, South-East Nigeria. His hometown is Uli, a part of Anambra State’s Ihiala Local Government Area.
He was born in Ajegunle, Lagos State but had his formative years of education. Growing up in Anambra and the Lagos States, he received his elementary schooling in some of the finest public schools then, amongst which was Tolu Primary School, and Central High School, Isolo.
When Kcee reflected on his history and discussed living in such a place, he claimed it was challenging. He acknowledged that there was a lot of hustle and that people were struggling at Ajegunle. Because his hard work would eventually pay off and laziness would bring nothing, he had to fight for himself and his goals and forget about being lazy. He claimed that while his parents offered him some instruction in school, he always had higher aspirations. Kcee continued by saying that he knew many others who had to hustle, so he decided to do the same to guarantee his future. In the area where he was raised, it would either be hustling or dying.
Kcee was appropriately raised in a Christian home because his parents were Catholic believers. He thus routinely attended religious services with his siblings. Additionally, he comes from a hardworking family that values enterprise and education equally.
Emeka, Kcee’s younger brother, is popularly known by the moniker E-Money. He helped Kcee achieve his professional objectives and gave him money to start a solo music career.
His mother gave him her support and blessing when he decided to begin a career in music. His father, however, first opposed it since he wanted his son to pursue a career in medicine or law by attending college. Moreover, he thought that it’s so hard for young people to become well-known musicians these days music wouldn’t help him make any money.
