Poco Lee Biography

One of the most well-known dancers in Nigeria is Poco Lee, whose real identity is Iweh Pascal Odinaka. He transitioned from performing on the streets to being one of the most prominent dancers on the African continent.

Poco was raised in the Lagos neighborhood of Ojo, where he completed his primary education at the Nigerian Navy Primary School, Okokomaiko in Ojo. He attended Command Day Secondary School in Lagos State’s Ojo Barracks for his secondary schooling. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Arts from Lagos State University (LASU)

Poco Lee, who grew up in Lagos alongside his sister, is the third of Mr. Kenneth and Mrs. Augustina Iweh’s five children. He is from Orlu LGA in Imo State.

His mother’s name is Augustina, and his father is Kenneth Iweh. He is their third child out of five. His father has primarily been kept out of the public, but Poco Lee always takes time to celebrate his mom on social media.

Poco Lee recently admitted he came up with the name in junior secondary school in an interview with Potpourri. “That took place in music class. Poco a Poco, which translates to “little by little,” is an Italian expression in music. I was the shortest student in the class then, so I got the nickname Poco. I added “Lee” to spice it up, and ever since, everyone calls it “Poco Lee,” he remembered.

In the past, he posted a few internet dancing tutorial videos where he displayed new routines.

Poco Lee had performed on stage alongside A-list singers and performers, including Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Zlatan Ibile, Naira Marley, and Niniola, among others, since his breakout year when he appeared in the well-known diverse Zanku Legwork video. Along with many A-list musicians who frequently include him in their songs, Poco Lee is also connected to Burna Boy, Gucci Branch, Zlatan Ibile, Olamide, Naira Marley, Rahman Jago, Zanku Records, Marlian Records, DMW, and many others.

His most significant break came when he uploaded a video of himself dancing to Legwork and Zanku at an event held by Lagos State University (LASU), which earned him a repost from Tunde Ednut on Instagram. Following his viral dance, he was spotted dancing in various high-profile celebrities’ videos.

On 21 December 2021, up-and-coming musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known by his stage name Portable, vehemently complained about how Poco Lee was robbing him of the sales from his hit song “Zazu.” He said that Poco Lee had stolen his music and taken the glory and credit for it, noting that the dancer went around claiming to be the song’s legal owner while denying him (Portable), who was the tune’s genuine owner, the credit and the proceeds from sales.

Poco Lee expressed regret for endorsing Portable in July 2022 because, according to him, every Portable time runs into difficulty, his name and Olamide, another musician who had assisted in propelling him to fame, are always brought up.

He has over 700,000 followers on Instagram and is active on Instagram, Twitter, and several other social media platforms.

Girlfriend

Although engaged to his long-term fiancée Amaka, Poco Lee has not yet tied the knot.

Poco Lee’s estimated net worth ranges from $100,000 to $150,000. His primary sources of income are music video roles, serving as an MC, and being the events Hypeman.

Cars

A devoted fan gave Poco Lee his first white Lexus SUV vehicle in 2020. Fans and other celebs congratulated him on his new whip after the car attracted so much attention.

Poco Lee also splurged on a 2019 Ford Mustang convertible for over N20 million. He also owns a Mercedes-Benz.

He has also been seen to drive or pose with other choice vehicles, but it’s unknown if they are his.

Poco Lee owns and resides at an apartment in Lekki, Lagos State.

Poco Lee has danced on occasions abroad, including the Valentine’s Jamboree Concert in Nairobi, Kenya, the One Africa Music Festival in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and in London’s O2 Arena, which hosted Naira Marley’s event.
