In the most recent news from Big Brother Naija ‘All Stars,’ housemate Angel Smith has asserted that previous male winners of the competition were undeserving of their victories. This has come as a “shade” at the past winners. Angel Smith, known for her outspoken nature, expressed her belief that the previous male winners of Big Brother Naija ‘All Stars’ lacked the strategic gameplay and charisma that she believes should determine victory. She emphasized the need for a winner who embodies the show’s essence and brings something unique.
After an 11-year hiatus, BBNaija returned in 2007 with season 2. Since then, four male contestants have won the show: Michael Efe Ejeba in season 2, Miracle Igbokwe in season 3, Olamilekan Agbeleshe “Laycon” in season 5, and Hazel Oyeye Onou “Whitemoney” in season 6.
During her diary session, Angel asserted that the male winners didn’t deserve to win because they didn’t add “enough drama” to the competition. The runners-up in seasons 3, 5, and 6 were all women: Cee C, Dorathy Bachor, and Liquorose, respectively.
“I feel like we are already in a patriarchal society; let a woman win the show. I’m sorry I am biased; that’s how I feel. “I just think that women have more presence, and I think that for every season I have watched the show, I have always felt that a woman was more deserving of the money, including my season. “I feel the women should have won it for the ones that the men won, but the game is the game, and it’s the public opinion at the end of the day. The women bring more outfits, drama, and everything to the table.”
