Cruise!: Peruzzi Asks Governor Sanwo-Olu To Join His Tiktok Challenge
Netizens’ reactions to the recent goodwill campaign activities undertaken by the Lagos state incumbent governor in the last weeks before the current governorship elections have been conflicted. Some people have chosen to use humor to defuse the situation, reduce the tension, and make politicians aware that they would still be held to higher standards even after the elections.
And on that note, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, has received an invitation from well-known artist Tobechukwu Victor Okolie, better known as Peruzzi, to partake in his TikTok challenge. This is in response to the famous skit creator, Sabinus, who recently revealed on his Instagram page that he is considering inviting the APC governorship candidate to his home.
The musician who just released “Pressure” requested the politician participate in an online competition he created for the song. The Artist meant this as a little joke while referring to his current campaign strategy.
On Twitter, Peruzzi mentioned Sanwo-Olu and wrote:
“My Gov! How Far TIKTOK Challenge For “Pressure” @jidesanwoolu? I Dey Reason Make We Run Am. 💙📿.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu was once seen in a video making rounds a few days back, shaking hands with every church member after service, and it got everyone talking. However, social media users derided the governor for losing faith in his re-election chances and labeled Sanwo Olu’s gestures as desperate.
In the current election on March 18, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will face off against Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, Funso Doherty of the Africa Democratic Congress, Abdulazeez Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party, and 11 other candidates for the position of governor of Lagos.
Mr. Governor don turn church greeter.
Very nice man.
Hope he will still do this after losing the election. pic.twitter.com/kY7L7O0PWZ
