Sanwo-Olu Guarantees The Security Of Igbo Traders In Lagos

On Tuesday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu set out on a campaign visit to significant South-East Asian markets. After receiving the open support of the state’s Ndigbo community for his reelection, Sanwo-Olu visited the markets in advance of the Saturday governor’s election. At an open forum held by entrepreneurs in the Trade Fair Complex, Ojo, under the auspices of the Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA), Sanwo-Olu was given a hearty welcome.

At the open forum, the governor vowed to protect Ndigbo businesses and assets in Lagos State. Sanwo-Olu also encountered a collection of Igbo traders in 58 significant markets in Lagos. The Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association, representing the traders, received unanimous support from them for the governor’s reelection. The governor also spoke with vendors at Ikeja’s well-known Computer Village market for gadgets, computers, and other mobile devices.

Concerns about the safety of the companies and assets owned by South-East traders in Lagos led to the formation of the engagements. However, the Igbo traders’ worries were eased by Sanwo-Olu, who reassured them that Lagos would continue to be a melting pot for all Nigerians. Furthermore, he promised his administration would keep fostering security and promoting peaceful coexistence among the state’s various ethnic nationalities.
