“Why I Will No Longer Eat with Certain People”: Paul Okoye Decries Election Irregularities
Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, a well-known performer and member of the P-Square fame, has expressed his disgust with the multiple insults made to voters, especially the Yoruba-Igbo hostilities in Lagos during the gubernatorial and assembly elections. However, the musician changed his stance on handling some people following the election in a March 18, 2023, post on his Instagram Story.
He said, “With all this threat, thugs, voters suppression, tribalism, etc. After this election! Know this and know peace… I will not be eating at the same table with some of you … I will never trust some of you … my long spoon will always be available. SOME OF YOU ARE NOT HUMANS. 🤮🤮🤮,”.
In another slide, Rudeboy said, “DURING #ENDSARS police could be seen, Army could be seen shooting innocent people. But today, they are nowhere to be found.
In a recent exchange with Seun Kuti over who was qualified to run for president, Rudeboy, who has been outspoken about his displeasure with the election results, said he would never have faith in anyone who backed voter suppression, thuggery, and disenfranchisement.
Seun Kuti called Peter Obi an “opportunist” and opposed his presidential campaign. He didn’t believe he was the most qualified Nigerian to lead the country out of its predicament. Electoral fraud, irregularities, bigotry, violence, and disenfranchisement severely tainted the 2023 Elections.
The nation’s electoral authorities have subsequently declared winners from the rigged poll results as aggrieved parties have been asked to go to court.
