Naeto C Biography
Born December 17 1982, He is a native of Nigeria born in Houston, Texas. Naetochukwu had a love of poetry and music in his early years. As a young poet, he participated in a lot of competitions. The elite Atlantic Hall Secondary School in Poka-Epe, Lagos, was where Naeto C went. After completing his secondary education in Lagos, he came to the US a year later to attend SUNY Old Westbury and George Washington University for his undergraduate studies. Intending to continue his education and become a doctor, Naeto C. earned a BSc. in Biology from George Washington University in 2004. His decision to pursue his passion and further his musical talent was altered after extensive introspection as he decided to chase music instead. Naeto later attended the University of Dundee in Scotland to pursue an MSc in Energy Studies in 2010.
His mother stated that he was enrolled in “a course in Energy Economics” at the University of Oxford in England in the summer of 2013, but no further information was provided. Naeto C received a Master of Science in Energy Economics from the University of Dundee in Scotland on November 17, 2020. Emeka Ihedioha, the then-gov of Imo State, nominated Naeto C as his special assistant for liaison with Lagos.
The Father of Naeto C is Nze Herbert Chickwe. He is the proprietor of Somachi Investment. His mother, Kema Chikwe, is a politician. She has held positions including Chairman of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) and Minister for Transport for Aviation. She also created the Women in Leadership Institute, which aims to give women in Nigeria and Africa a new perspective.
The total number of his siblings is not known. Still, it is known that he has a sister, Somachi Chikwe, who was once married to Nigerian businessman Dumebi Kachikwu before their divorce in 2011.
The couple has three kids: Marobi was born on March 25, 2013; Adarema was born on July 25, 2014; and Naeso was born on November 6, 2018.
Naeto C is a married Man. He and Nicole Chikwe exchanged wedding vows in 2012. Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, Andy Uba, Daisy Danjuma, Chris Ngige, and other notable politicians were among the guests who attended the occasion.
After completing his secondary education in Lagos, he moved to the US a year later to pursue his studies at SUNY Old Westbury and George Washington University. He then met Uzikwendu and Ikechukwu, a budding hip-hop musician from Washington Heights, New York, at this time. The trio later created a brotherhood of musicians called the World Famous Academy. They wanted to develop into an independent record label but could not secure the necessary funding. Naeto C has recorded over 40 songs as a solo artist and 25 tracks with the WFA label as a group.
His older cousin Obi Asika, co-owner of the Lagos, Nigeria-based record label Storm Records, had been attempting to sign the World Famous Akademy for some time. Naeto concurred with the rest of the WFA as he had chosen to pursue a career as a musician. However, they did not return to Nigeria until Ikechukwu’s debut album, Son Of the Soil, was released in the first quarter of 2006.
That record laid the foundation for Naeto C and the WFA. Naeto was able to showcase his producing abilities working with Storm artists like Sasha, Dare Art-Alade, GT the Guitarman, Disconnect, Saro-Wiwa, and Nkiru while serving as an in-house producer for the company with his recently discovered production duo “ET-Quake” (composed of TY Mix and VC Perez).
With the help of the aforementioned musicians, Naeto could record more than 60 songs within a year, including most of the songs for his second album, which he co-produced with ET-Quake with the production beyond the hip-hop sounds of that time.
The “I Believe” song, co-written and produced by Naeto and VC Perez (an ET-Quake member) and features South African musicians Hugh Masekela and Sheun, an upcoming R&B/Gospel artist, is a noteworthy production accomplishment. In the same year, Naeto gained a ton of performance experience, from Ikechukwu’s album launch to the Channel O Awards to the I Believe Tour to Always promo tour with Sasha and many other gigs, in preparation for the incredible MTN Homecoming Concert, headlined by a well-known friend, the Nigerian pop sensation D’banj.
According to the now-defunct MO HITS RECORD, Naeto C had surpassed more restrictions than any other up-and-coming artist in terms of lyricism and production, starting with the Fela-inspired “Lagos City Hustla,” the most articulate reflection of hip-hop/Afro-beat to date. In May 2008, You Know My “P”—his debut album—was made available.
Naeto C has received honours in the music industry, including Best New Artist at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009, Video of the Year at the 2009 Channel O Music Video Awards, and Best New Musician at the 2008 MTV Africa Music Awards. In addition, His Super C Season album was nominated for Album of the Year, and he was mentioned in the Artist of the Year category, respectively, in the 2012 Headies. Naeto C was chosen to be the special assistant on Lagos Liaison by Emeka Ihedioha, the then-governor of Imo State. Along with Waje, Niyola, and Praiz, he recently participated as a judge on the talent competition program The Voice Nigeria.
