Lil TJay Arrested On His Birthday Due To A Pending Warrant

US rapper, Lil Tjay’s birthday festivities were marred earlier this week when he was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

On Tuesday, April 30, the day he turned 23, the Bronx rapper, real name Tione Merritt, was reportedly arrested at Miami-Opa Locka airport, according to Complex. It seems that the warrant is related to a September 2021 court date that was missed. After his mugshot appeared online, Tjay was eventually freed from police detention on a $500 bond.

In response to news of his detention, the popular song “Calling My Phone” artist uploaded an image of himself boarding a private plane to Instagram.

After livestreaming himself driving on social media last year, Lil Tjay was previously arrested for reckless endangerment. Tjay recorded the arrest on Instagram Live, and the video shows him imploring the officers not to touch him. The Bronx native was then urged to turn around by one of the police, but he refused.

Then many cops put him in restraint, handcuffed him, and drove off. Additionally, in June 2022, Tjay was shot multiple times in New Jersey. He was taken to the hospital immediately and had emergency surgery. The rapper thanked his fans for their support after making a full recovery.
