MC Oluomo Ascends to Leadership Role in NURTW’s Zone 2

Unanimous Appointment Amidst Calls for Reinstatement of NURTW Activities in Key States

In a significant development within the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been unanimously appointed as the acting chairman of the union’s Zone 2. The decision was made public during the Zonal Conference held at the Zone 2 Council Secretariat, located on Ikirun Road, Osogbo.

The union’s leadership and members have expressed their collective decision in elevating MC Oluomo to this pivotal role. This move is seen as a strategic step, especially considering the current dynamics within the union and the broader road transport sector in the region.

Furthermore, the union has made a fervent appeal to key state governors, including Osun State’s Governor Ademola Adeleke, Ondo State’s Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, and Oyo State’s Governor Seyi Makinde. The union’s plea revolves around the reinstatement of NURTW activities in these states. Such a move, as per the union’s perspective, would enable them to nominate suitable candidates for the esteemed position of the national president of the union, a role that is zoned to the Southwest.

The announcement of MC Oluomo’s appointment comes at a time when the union is gearing up for elections slated to be held later this month. The broader NURTW community and stakeholders are keenly watching these developments, anticipating the future direction the union will take under the leadership of MC Oluomo.
