Awoniyi Receives Praise For Saving Forest From The Relegation Zone

The only person to score in the contest between Southampton and Nottingham Forest was Taiwo Awoniyi. His goal at 27 seconds was crucial in Forest’s escape from the bottom three. Following his goal on Wednesday night, Awoniyi has subsequently garnered praise for his fantastic adventure and excellent performance this season.

All four of Nottingham Forest’s Premier League victories this season have been by a score of 1-0, with Awoniyi scoring the game-winning goal in three of those victories, earning him the moniker “Terrific Taiwo” on BBC Sports. This season, Taiwo Awoniyi has scored four goals in the Premier League, all of which have come in the game’s first minute. Only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane have scored first in as many different games this Premier League season.

Following his fantastic performance in Sunday night’s 1-1 draw between Nottingham Forest and Chelsea, Awoniyi also won his first Man-of-The-Match Award. The Nigerian was overjoyed to get his first of many awards, as he also received the Man-of-The-Match Award for his outstanding performance against Southampton last night. Steve Cooper, the manager of Nottingham Forest, expressed his happiness with his team’s escape from the danger zone after the game.
