T-Pain Claims To Have Taken His Songwriter Credits Off Several Country Songs Due To Racism

American singer, T-Pain, has throughout his illustrious career, frequently ventured beyond the boundaries of R&B and hip-hop because to his versatile skill set, but he recently revealed that he has even written country songs.

The Florida-born singer-rapper revealed in a recent TikTok that he has written country music for other artists but that he had to remove his name from the songwriting credits due to incidents of racism.  The 38-year-old gave no indication as to who he has composed country music for or whether he is writing under a different name.

However, The Breakfast Club uncovered an old interview last week in which T-Pain discussed his ghostwriting career in greater detail and mentioned that, throughout his two years in Nashville, he had collaborated with artists like Luke Bryan and Taylor Swift.

Songview claims that none of the songs by the aforementioned musicians have T-Pain listed as a writer. He did, however, strike up a conversation with Swift about a spoof of her “Love Story,” which they changed to “Thug Story” and played live at the 2009 CMT Awards.

With his On Top of the Covers album from the previous year, T-Pain showcased his love for country music by covering David Allan Coe’s “Tennessee Whiskey.”
