In 2008, he won the Opa Williams-organised National Comedy Challenge for the Calabar zone. That put him on a pedestal of sorts from which he pushed to the position he is today – one of the most visible faces in Nigerian comedy.
The celebrated comedian’s immediate family comprises himself, his wife Josephine, and the three children of the marriage. The couple had a daughter first, followed by twins.

Akpororo has a brother whose name is unknown and a sister named Becky. It is unclear if he has other siblings besides those named.
While Akpororo is said to have a brother, details about him are pretty scanty. Akpororo’s brother was living in Lagos while the comedian himself was living in Warri and didn’t want to live the town. However, his mother convinced him to leave Warri and live with his brother in Lagos.
Akpororo’s family members are mostly out of the limelight. However, he is known to have a sister called Becky of whom he is very fond. He once celebrated her online as the latest graduate in town.

Akpororo loves life but then, compared to some of his contemporaries, he might be put in the modest category – not too flashy and generally living life on his own terms – a man to whom peace of mind is singularly important.
By Nigerian standards, it is easy to see that Akpororo isn’t doing badly. He is unarguably one of the rich Nigerians out there, His net worth, though, is one thing he wouldn’t tell you. The floor is therefore open for speculation. Of the numbers flying all over the place, N400 million remains the most recurring estimate.

While he is said to have a house in Warri, his most prominent property is the one he has in Lagos. He shared an image of the house on Instagram, noting in the caption that except God builds a house, the labourer labours in vain.
Being a native of Ilaje in Ondo state, he might be classified as part of the Yoruba tribe. He was, however, born in Warri, Delta, and is most identified with the ancient town.
Many years ago, comedy wasn’t something anyone would point to as a source of living. But the world has evolved so much and continues to evolve such that comedy is now the bread and butter of many people around the world, including Nigeria’s Akpororo.
His comedy adventures started almost a decade ago. He believed he could make it in the world of comedy and launched out, holding his first ever major comedy show, “Akpororo Vs Akpororo” at the Muson Centre in Lagos.
