Family
Parents
Father
Andy Murray’s father is William Murray. Little is known about his father, who has kept a low-key social profile during his son’s successful tennis career. He has always been a great influence in Murray’s life and has always supported him in his tennis career.
Mother
Andy Murray’s mother is Judy Murray. Eileen Shirley and Roy Eskrine welcomed her on September 8, 1959, in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire. Roy Eskrine, her father, was an optician and a former footballer who played for English clubs in the 1950s. Judy grew up playing tennis and badminton and quickly acquired a love for the sport.
She won 64 titles in her hometown of Scotland during her junior career, but her professional career did not proceed as planned since the Britisher was homesick while on tour and also suffered from a number of injuries.
Siblings
Jamie Murray is Andy Murray’s older brother. He is also a professional tennis player who competes on the doubles circuit and has won many Grand Slams (both men’s and mixed). Jamie Murray was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on February 13, 1986. Since 2010, the 36-year-old has been married to Alejandra Murray.
Children
Andy has his wife have four kids together, namely; Sophia, Edie, Teddie, and their unnamed son born in 2021. Sophia, his eldest child, was born in 2016, a year after the Murrays married, with Edie following in November 2017 and Teddy arriving in 2019.
Andy Murray opted to withdraw from the ATP Tour event in Dubai in March 2021, following the birth of his fourth child, in order to spend more time with his newborn. The birth of his and Kim’s fourth child was kept under wraps, and the pair has traditionally preferred to keep all of their children out of the public eye.
Wife
Andy Murray is married to Kim Murray (née Sears), whom he supposedly met back in 2005 at a US Open party. Andy offered Kim a loving kiss after winning his first tournament in California the following year, making their relationship public knowledge.
Kim, on the other hand, was no stranger to the world of tennis even before she met her future husband. Nigel Sears, her father, is a tennis coach who has worked with players like as Ana Ivanovic and Daniela Hantuchova.
Lifestyle
Net Worth
Murray’s net worth is estimated to be about £130 million ($165 million), with his career earnings exceeding a remarkable £45.3 million ($60 million), according to The Sun. Murray earned £1.1 million ($1.9 million) after defeating Novak Djokovic in the 2012 US Open final, and another £2 million after defeating Djokovic in the 2013 Wimbledon final. Murray reached three Grand Slam finals in 2016, won 78 matches, and won nine titles in total. He won £10.8 million in prize money that year.
Murray has non-tennis business interests as well. He is the sole stakeholder of his company 77 Management, formerly Parched Investments, and owns the Cromlix House Hotel near his hometown of Dunblane, which he purchased for about £2 million ten years ago. Murray’s business empire is worth more than £26 million, according to the Daily Mail, and he has a slew of lucrative sponsorship deals.
Cars
Murray owns a Jaguar I-Pace, a Jaguar F-Pace, and a Ferrari F430. However, he bought his first car, a Volkswagen polo, in 2007, and now owns a Ferrari F430, indicating how far he has come in his career.
House
Andy Murray has increased his property portfolio by selling his £5 million Surrey mansion and reinvesting the proceeds in the construction of his dream family home in Leatherhead. The two-time Wimbledon winner, who will return to the court in SW19 in July, previously resided in Surrey with his wife Kim and their four young children. The tennis legend has kept his bespoke residence, which includes a tennis court, off social media.
Coach
Ivan Lendl is Andy Murray’s coach for Wimbledon 2023. Lendl won eight majors and held the world No. 1 ranking for 270 weeks during his career, and he has been in Murray’s box for the most of his victories. Murray won the 2012 US Open and Wimbledon under Lendl’s guidance.
They have split and reunited several times in the last 10 years, owing primarily to Murray’s inability to play for extended periods due to injuries. They reconnected in March 2022 and have remained together ever then.
Grand Slams
Murray has won three Grand Slam titles in his career. He has appeared in 11 Grand Slam finals, winning the Wimbledon Championship twice and the US Open once.
