Gavin Rossdale Biography
Gavin McGregor Rossdale is an English musician best known as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the rock band Bush. He was born on October 30, 1965. He helped establish Bush in 1992, and after the band split up in 2002, he became the lead singer and guitarist for Institute before embarking on a solo career. When Bush reformed in 2010, he resumed his post. He got the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement from the British Academy in 2013.

Rossdale, the son of Barbara Stephan (née Bowie) and physician Douglas Rossdale, was born in Marylebone, London, England. His father was of Russian Jewish ancestry; his mother was Scottish; and the family’s original surname was “Rosenthal.” Rossdale’s parents split when he was 11 years old, and he did not learn to talk until he was 4 years old.
Siblings
Rossdale has two sisters, one younger, Soraya, and one older, Lorraine. David Rossdale, Rossdale’s half brother, is the Bishop of Grimsby (a suffragan in the Diocese of Lincoln). Georgina Rossdale-Smith, Rossdale’s half sister, is a doctor. Rossdale began playing bass guitar after meeting his sister Lorraine’s boyfriend, who was a member of the band The Nobodyz, but he later switched to rhythm guitar.
